Review of "Blink Of An Eye" by Jester's News

The last Enchant album "Juggling 9 or Dropping 10" was truely acceptable. However, it revealed the latent danger of Enchant slightly drifting into more commercial fields. Well, the new album "Blink of an Eye" proves that these fears are not justified, because it clearly shows Enchant in a more progressive and challenging way than on their previous album. Furthermore, a harder edge has been added to the music of "Blink of an Eye", which fans of the "Wounded" or "Time Lost" era surely will feel happy about. However, it has to be pointed out that on this album there are a few songs which have nothing to do with progressive metal, but definitely tend to go in a more prog rock direction. Anyway, it's the mixture that counts. And this mixture is much better than on the two predecessors. It is also remarkable that the songs on "Blink of an Eye" are not as easily accessible as the songs on "Juggling 9 or dropping 10", which sometimes were too accessible from a commercial point of view. All in all, this album is a comforting return to the progressive roots and to a mixture of Prog Rock and Prog Metal. Therefore it can be warmly recommended to fans of this genre.
